Updated on 5th July 2020.
Thank you very much indeed from Cherry Lodge Cancer Care to the Summer Soulstice crew and all their supporters for raising more than £3,000 fom Summer Soulstice Virtual 2020. These are challenging times for charities (and fundraisers) and we very much appreciate the ongoing support of Summer Soulstice, who for many years now have been our largest third party supporter.
In place of this year’s Summer Soulstice festival, inevitably cancelled due to the coronavirus, the Soulstice crew and their friends at F1 Sound Co and Deliciously Twisted Studios put on a fantastic four-day online musical extravaganza.
This event was a great opportunity to listen to fantastic festival music, to remember Andy Weekes and to raise money to help Cherry Lodge Cancer Care continue to provide its many cancer information and support services completely free of charge. The four-day programme comprised:
Thursday 25th June, from 8pm to 10pm, a 2-hour special from Deliciously Twisted on DT Radio
Friday 26th June, from 6pm to 10pm, a one-off Brews & Soul Online Session, followed from 10pm to 11pm by Dr Bob Jones’ Summer Soulstice Surgery
Saturday 27th June, from 11am to 1am, the main event with a great list of DJs presenting the very popular Soulstice festival mix of soul, funk, jazz, disco, house and Soulstice dance floor classics.
Sunday 28th June, an Afternoon Chillout with a programme of specially recorded 1-hour shows from selected top DJs.
Proceedings were streamed around the globe via channels on YouTube, Mixcloud and Twitch TV – and you can still access and enjoy them via these links. If you haven’t done so already, please visit the Summer Soulstice gofundme page and make a donation.
