We are pleased to announce that our application for a grant from the Lloyds Community Fund has been successful – in fact, very successful, as we have won our area’s top award of £3,000.
These grants are made by the Lloyds Bank Foundation to help small and medium charities working to improve social and community welfare. Our application was to help us provide the following activities:
- regular peer group meetings for men with prostate or bladder cancers (our Men Down Under group)
- regular support group meetings for women with ovarian cancer
- weekly exercise classes for members.
Having successfully got through to the second round, Cherry Lodge was included on a shortlist of four local charities for consideration by members of the public. The results of the public vote were released on Monday 3rd November 2014: Cherry Lodge were the clear winners, receiving 41.5% of the total 3529 votes cast in the Hatfield area.
