Steven Hargreaves’ Morpeth to Newcastle Marathon

On Sunday 30th October 2016, Steven Hargreaves ran the brand new Morpeth to Newcastle (M2N) marathon to raise money to help fund Cherry Lodge Cancer Care’s information and support services. Steve chose to take part in this event to celebrate his fortieth birthday and because he is a friend of Alex Woods and his wife Ann-Marie. (Alex recently raised a very large sum for Cherry Lodge by completing the Thames Path Walk in September.)

Steve and his fellow runners set out from the historic Northumberland market town of Morpeth, then ran through Cramlington, Blyth, Whitley Bay, Cullercoats and North Shields, to finish the race on Newcastle’s iconic Quayside.

Please help Steve to help Cherry Lodge Cancer Care by supporting him as generously as you can. His JustGiving page is still open.

STEVE HAS JUST SENT US THIS UPDATE

I completed the marathon ok. It was harder than I had anticipated due to not enough training but I was very pleased I was able to mark my fortieth birthday and raise money for Cherry Lodge at the same time.

My family were on the finish line to greet me thankfully and escort me home!
Unfortunately no one thought to take a picture so the only photo I have is of the medal!

The money I raise via the Justgiving page will be matched in part by my employer who will make or may have already made a separate contribution directly to you.

I wish you all the best in your great work.

Best regards, Steve Hargreaaves

Thank you Steve for doing this for Cherry Lodge. As they say: life begins at 40, although the saying doesn’t add that you have to run a marathon!!!
