The Psychobilly crowd returned to the Fiddlers Elbow in Kentish Town on Saturday 3rd February 2018 for another hugely successful charity festival against cancer. Psychobilly Kicks Back is the brainchild of Cherry Lodge supporter Steve (Ginger) Meadham. This year’s line up included 10 first-rate bands – The Neutronz; The Intolerants; Howlin Bones; Wigsville Spliffs; Knocksville; King Kurt; The Deltas; The BlueCats; Long Tall Texans and Shakin DT’s – plus great DJs.
Everyone involved, onstage and off, had a great time – and all the hard work and generosity of a great many people produced a fantastic result for Cherry Lodge. Our featured photograph, right, shows Steve and Amanda Meadham presenting a big cheque for £8,150 to Tina at the Cherry Lodge Centre in Union Street, Barnet.
Message from organiser Steve Meadham
Hello world!
Well what can I say? What an explosive night we had. I have never been in a place where everybody was just smiling, joining in with every band, supporting their sets. Every band played for free but that’s not just it – they gave their best shows. As far as I’m concerned the atmosphere was electric. The whole event was one big family. The wrecking was great and well controlled. Every person was just in great form. The money came pouring in again and we sold out of everything – even the donations that came in got sold 5 minutes later.
Massive thanks to every band and to Glenn Blake, Criss, DJ Chris Setzer for their amazing sets, great music for sure. Also to great friends Jenny Geddes and Andy Geddes for their help with our raffle and door control. Thanks to all the staff at the Fiddlers Elbow pub – you earned your money – and a big thanks Dan for giving us the venue again. Thanks also to Steve Whitehouse for the base rig and double basses, Luke Morgan and Pauline Di Silvestro for taking so many pics I can’t wait to see them, and my German partner Thomas Heiden for all his help with our next one on 19th-20th October in Germany.
It goes without saying, special thanks to Amanda Meadham for her help and support, for pushing this event and doing all the behind the scenes stuff, as well of course being there on the night, without a complaint, getting stuck in with us.
Thank you to all and every single one of you that took part in this amazing event. We can’t do it without you. Massive love to you all – see ya in Germany we hope.
Love from Ginger Meadham, Amanda Meadham and all the Meadham family.
We truly respect you all.
We thank you all.
