Cherry Lodge Cancer Care congratulates Marc Sidney for completing a most impressive charity sailing challenge. We are grateful to him for raising a very considerable amount of money to be shared equally by Cherry Lodge Cancer Care and North London Hospice – two charities he has described as being “very close to my heart”.
Marc was a member of an eight-man crew that set sail from St John’s, Newfoundland on 23rd July 2022. Eleven days later, on 3rd August, after a journey of 1900 nautical miles, they arrived at Cowes, on the Isle of Wight. Before setting out, Marc described this personal challenge as “the optimal test of my mental and physical strength” – and there can be no doubt that this turned out to be true.
Marc’s fundraising page will stay open for a little while longer. On 6th September, his fundraising total stood at £7,090 (plus £1,320 Gift Aid). Thank you very much indeed to Marc and all his supporters.
