The Kids’ Easter Fun Day, held to raise money for Cherry Lodge Cancer Care on Easter Saturday (26th March 2016), was a great success. Children and adults all enjoyed this seasonal event at St Mark’s Church Hall, Barnet. Among the very popular activities on offer were an Easter egg hunt, live animal petting, sand art and games. There were also stalls selling some very attractive items and a good range of food options.
This event, put on by entertainer Pinky Jo, was held in memory of her great friend Elena Mytides, who very sadly died of cancer aged only 20. The money raised, on behalf of Girlies Raising Hope, is being donated to Cherry Lodge Cancer Care to buy pamper packs full of non toxic body care products to help make Cherry Lodge members feel better and to ‘raise their hope during this difficult time’.
Pinky Jo has posted on Facebook:
‘I’m totally humbled at the fantastic attendance of friends, customers and facebook friends that made today a great success. Around 350 people attended and It was constantly packed in the hall. Thank u to all the stall holders for making the event possible. Thank you to my mum Frou Frou who was at the door and Doulla Costi and Ellen for all your help. Thank you to everyone that was a part of today. My girls and I marked the day off in letting off the pink heart balloon to Elena Mytides, love u. In Elena’s memory £576 was raised for Girlies Raising Hope at Cherry Lodge Cancer Care in Barnet.’
Cherry Lodge Cancer Care sends a big thank you to Pinky Jo and the Girlies for their ongoing support.
