Members of the Christadelphian “Church in a House” in Station Road, New Barnet held a Garden Party on Saturday 5th September 2015 and will be donating the proceeds to Cherry Lodge. Although the weather was overcast and breezy, the afternoon was a great success.
Visitors (including several Cherry Lodge members) were greeted with a warm welcome and the opportunity to buy fresh produce, home-baked goods and freshly pressed apple juice from the apple press set up in the front garden of the church.
Musical entertainment was provided throughout the afternoon by various members of the church, and delicious cakes and biscuits were available, along with refreshing cold drinks, tea and coffee.
The beautiful garden, including a thriving vegetable patch, was open for guests to wander through, while those who were less energetic had the to opportunity rest in the shady courtyard. Younger visitors could have their faces painted if they wished.
The Christadelphian “Church in a House” has selected Cherry Lodge Cancer Care to be its chosen charity for the next three months. Everyone at Cherry Lodge is extremely grateful for the continuing support given by the members of this friendly local church.
