Events Programme
Cherry Lodge Cancer Care fundraisers work hard to put on an interesting and varied programme of events. Very successful CL events in the run up to Christmas 2024 included the Cherry Lodge Christmas Fair on 30th November, the Festive Extravaganza at The Landsby on 9th December, and Carol Singing in The Spires by local schoolchildren on Wednesdays 4th and 11th December. Thank you very much indeed to all our fundraisers. Information about exciting new events will be posted early in the New Year.
On this page of the website you can see our events programme presented in two different ways. Use the drop-down menu immediately below this text to select either ‘Agenda’ (an interactive list with dates, which is the default option) or ‘Month’ (an interactive calendar that shows the planned events month by month). Each of these options provides an overview of our scheduled events.
You can find out more detailed information about an event in the following ways. If you are using the Agenda view, click on an event to see a display box and a Read More button to take you to the event page, where you will find full details including a map. If you are using the Monthly Calendar, hover your cursor over an event date to see a display box and then click to go to the event page.
The new fashion season is upon us and you are warmly invited to attend Dawn Ledgard’s Autumn 2018 Clothes Sale on Wednesday 24th October. These popular seasonal sales offer a good value opportunity to buy from an extensive range of beautiful designer clothing, jewellery and accessories.
As usual, this sale will be held at the Hadley Wood Association Centre (behind the Tennis Club at 7 Crescent East). As past customers know, buying here is much more convenient than a trip into the West End. It is also much more enjoyable and reliable than buying online. Why not bring a friend and take a break to chat over coffee?
Donations of £1 at the door, plus commission on sales, will be given to Cherry Lodge Cancer Care to help fund our valuable services for people affected by cancer.
Join in the festivities and help Summer Soulstice mark the 5th anniversary of Brews and Soul at Barnet’s Black Horse pub on Saturday 27th October 2018, from 7.30pm until 1am.
With Soulful Beats from regular DJs Double-J and Jester Groove plus special guest Frostie.
As always the Black Horse staff will be offering a wide selection of cask beers along with a great wine list and an ever-changing choice of craft beers, including the now famous Soul Brew.
Visit the Summer Soulstice website for full details. Buy Birthday Brews tickets online or in person direct from the venue. Tickets cost £5 in advance, plus a limited number of £10 tickets on the night (unless previously sold out).
A percentage of the proceeds from Birthday Brews will go towards costs for next year’s Summer Soulstice festival to be held on Saturday 22nd June 2019.

The Cherry Lodge Cancer Care annual ‘Lights of Love’ ceremony offers an opportunity for people to come together to remember a loved one, to mark a special occasion, as a token of love, or simply to enjoy the company of others.
Before the event, people are invited to make a donation to Cherry Lodge Cancer Care to sponsor a symbolic light on the bandstand at The Spires Shopping Centre in Barnet. Everyone on the Cherry Lodge mailing list should have received a donation form along with their Autumn Newsletter. If you haven’t received a form, please contact Tina on 020 8441 7000 or email tina@cherrylodgecancercare.org.uk.
On receipt of your donation, Cherry Lodge will send you a dedication card for each person you named plus an invitation to attend the lighting ceremony.
This year’s event will be held on Sunday 9th December 2018, starting at 4.30pm. The lights on the bandstand will be switched on, the Cherry Lodge Singers will be singing, readings will be given, names of people to be remembered will be read out, and there will be plenty of time to enjoy refreshments and chat with old and new friends.
The bandstand will be illuminated every day until January.
