Events Programme
Cherry Lodge Cancer Care fundraisers work hard to put on an interesting and varied programme of events. Coming up next is A Taste of the Middle East at the Landsby on Monday 11th November 2024.
On this page of the website you can see our events programme presented in two different ways. Use the drop-down menu immediately below this text to select either ‘Agenda’ (an interactive list with dates, which is the default option) or ‘Month’ (an interactive calendar that shows the planned events month by month). Each of these options provides an overview of our scheduled events.
You can find out more detailed information about an event in the following ways. If you are using the Agenda view, click on an event to see a display box and a Read More button to take you to the event page, where you will find full details including a map. If you are using the Monthly Calendar, hover your cursor over an event date to see a display box and then click to go to the event page.

This charity walk has been organised by Barnet Mayor’s Appeal in support of Cherry Lodge Cancer Care and Homestart. It will be led by Paul Baker, a City of London guide specializing in tours in the Borough of Barnet.
You’ll hear about the background to this major battle in 1471 during the Wars of the Roses, how and why it took place, who were the main participants, how the battle developed, and how the weather played a huge part in the outcome of one of the most important battles in English history. You’ll also hear about the three kings of England who came to spend the day in Barnet.
It’s a fun walk around the battlefield and there will be some audience participation. The walk lasts two hours and costs £10 (£5 for under 12s). Please email Paul on pbaker54@hotmail.co.uk to reserve a place – the full price in cash will be due on the day. Places are strictly limited to 30 so please book early to avoid disappointment.
October is national Breast Cancer Awareness month and, as usual, Cherry Lodge Cancer Care will be putting on a fantastic Pink Barrow Tombola in The Spires Shopping Centre, Barnet.
Our 2019 event will take place on Saturday 19th October, starting at 11am and lasting well into the afternoon. Cherry Lodge Cancer Care will be helping increase awareness of breast cancer as well as raising money for our information and support services, which are provided free of charge to anyone affected by cancer, including family members and carers.
Please come along to our pitch just outside Waitrose and enjoy the fun. There will be lots of attractive pink prizes to be won – and all you need do to win is pick a ticket bearing a number ending in zero or five!
Autumn is upon us and you are warmly invited to attend Dawn Ledgard’s Autumn 2019 Clothes Sale on Wednesday 23rd October. These popular seasonal sales offer a great opportunity to buy beautiful designer clothing, jewellery and accessories while making huge savings compared to high street and mail order prices.
As usual, the sale will be held at the Hadley Wood Association Centre (behind the Tennis Club at 7 Crescent East). As past customers know, buying here is much more convenient, reliable and enjoyable than a trip into the West End. Why not bring a friend and combine shopping with a chat over coffee?
Donations of £1 at the door, plus commission on sales, will be given to Cherry Lodge Cancer Care to help fund our valuable services for people affected by cancer.
Lianna Mazure is braving the skies to raise money for Cherry Lodge Cancer Care and also for brain cancer research. Her jump, organised by UK Skydiving Adventures, Cambridge, was scheduled to take place on 25th October 2019 but Lianna has been advised to delay the jump until she recovers from an untimely back injury. A new date will be announced here as soon as she is given the go ahead.
Lianna is taking on this impressive challenge to raise money in memory of her wonderful friend Paul Radville. Fundraising will continue while she recuperates. Please visit Lianna’s JustGiving page to read her very moving tribute to Paul, who ‘at the age of 30 … was cruelly taken by brain cancer after a long and gruelling battle’. Lianna tells how during Paul’s illness, she ‘watched someone who was the greatest clown I had ever encountered become the most inspirational and admirable person I have ever met’.
Lianna is fundraising for two very good causes: a brain cancer research charity, and Cherry Lodge Cancer Care. Research into brain tumours is very seriously underfunded and Lianna is asking you to help redress this. She is also fundraising to help Cherry Lodge continue to provide its information and support services completely free of charge to people affected by cancers of all types. Cherry Lodge Cancer Care will pass on half the amount raised by Lianna’s Skydive to her chosen brain cancer research charity.
Lianna first heard about Cherry Lodge when she recently attended a local BNI (Business Network International) meeting as a guest, and heard our representative, Yvonne, speak about our services.
