Events Programme
Cherry Lodge Cancer Care fundraisers work hard to put on an interesting and varied programme of events. Coming up next is A Taste of the Middle East at the Landsby on Monday 11th November 2024.
On this page of the website you can see our events programme presented in two different ways. Use the drop-down menu immediately below this text to select either ‘Agenda’ (an interactive list with dates, which is the default option) or ‘Month’ (an interactive calendar that shows the planned events month by month). Each of these options provides an overview of our scheduled events.
You can find out more detailed information about an event in the following ways. If you are using the Agenda view, click on an event to see a display box and a Read More button to take you to the event page, where you will find full details including a map. If you are using the Monthly Calendar, hover your cursor over an event date to see a display box and then click to go to the event page.
You are invited to listen again and again whenever you want to Summer Soulstice Virtual 2020. This fantastic four-day musical extravaganza, from 25th-28th June 2020, was put on on by the Soulstice crew and their friends at F1 Sound Co and Deliciously Twisted Studios to replace this year’s cancelled live Summer Soulstice event. Proceedings were streamed around the globe via channels on Mixcloud, YouTube and Twitch TV – and you can still access and enjoy them via these links.
If you haven’t done so already, you might also like to visit the Summer Soulstice gofundme page and make a donation.
Psychobilly Kicks Back Aginst Cancer (PKB) and Doghouse Radio are joining forces to put on a fantastic live radio show. This 24-hour psychobilly music extravaganza, hosted by Steve (Ginger) Meadham and Nigel Stacy, will run from 9pm on Saturday 3rd October to 9pm on Sunday 4th October 2020.
The show has two important aims: to make great music available to a large audience currently deprived of live concerts due to Covid; and to raise money to ‘Kick Back Against Cancer’. Cherry Lodge Cancer Care is very grateful for the extremely generous support shown to us previously by the Psychobilly community, and we are delighted that PKB, run by drummer Ginger Meadham and his wife Amanda, have chosen to raise money for us once again.
Non-stop entertainment will be provided by eight fantastic DJs from the UK and USA – Fido, Dr Sick Puppy, Vodka Goddess, Max, Scarlett, Deevil, Zyko Willy, and Tiny. During their sets, each DJ will be raising money by auctioning an attractive one-off item. There are also freebies to be given away, including voice clips and merchandise donated by some very big bands. An impressive cd – Large Aid vol. 1 – has been produced in connection with this event and will be on sale. Large Aid vols. 2, 3, and 4 are set to follow thanks to the generous donation of tracks from over 50 bands.
Visit www.doghouse-psychobilly.com and https://www.facebook.com/events/329287804809018/ for more information.
Do tune in on the day, enjoy the show, and help Psychobilly Kicks Back Against Cancer to raise money to help fund Cherry Lodge Cancer Care’s much-needed cancer information and support services!
Plans are now in place for Cherry Lodge Cancer Care to put on a terrific Pink Tombola event in The Spires, Barnet on Saturday 10th October 2020. Please drop by between 11am and 3pm to have some fun and show your support.
Our Pink Tombola stall has been a highlight of Cherry Lodge’s fundraising calendar for many years now. October is national Breast Cancer Awareness month and, in this respect, 2020 is no different from any other. Increasing people’s awareness of breast cancer and raising money to help fund Cherry Lodge Cancer Care’s much needed services are as important as ever!
Everything possible is being done to make this event a great success. Special attention is also being taken to keep people as safe as possible from Covid.
This year, we are not asking people to donate prizes for the stall – a good variety of items had been donated previously, and others have been purchased using money generously donated for this purpose. All items will have been quarantined and will be handled only by helpers wearing gloves.
On the day, our stall will be pitched near the High Street entrance to The Spires, in a good, well-ventilated spot. It will be protected by cones, and people will be asked to wear masks and not hover around. Hand sanitizer, gloves and masks will be provided. Tickets will be issued through holes in a board. Payment is to be by contactless card or by cash in a CL collection box ( no change given). Prizes will be handed out by volunteers wearing masks and gloves.
This will be Cherry Lodge Cancer Care’s first ‘live’ fundraising event for many months. Life is not back to normal – but Cherry Lodge’s Pink Tombola 2020 is definitely an encouraging step in the right direction. Do please pop by if you possibly can!
Enjoy a good laugh in the comfort of your own home while helping fund Cherry Lodge Cancer Care’s much needed cancer information and support services.

This year there is even more reason than usual to support Cherry Lodge Cancer Care’s Grand Annual Raffle. Please help us raise as much money as possible from this year’s Annual Grand Raffle, by buying tickets for yourself and also selling tickets to your family members and friends.

Cherry Lodge Cancer Care very much hopes that you will be able to join us at our annual Lights of Love ceremony on Sunday 13th December 2020. The coronavirus means it is not possible this year for us to gather together in person around the bandstand at The Spires. Instead, you are invited to attend via Zoom.
The ceremony will take place inside Howard House, the Cherry Lodge centre. There will be music from a professional violinist and, as usual, the names of the people to be remembered will be read out. The lights on the bandstand will be switched on before the ceremony begins and will stay lit over the festive period.
PLEASE NOTE THE CORRECTED TIME: 5.15pm for 5.30pm. (The memorial invitation cards were printed and sent out before arrangements had to be changed.)
Everyone who has made a donation and received an invitation card will be sent an email giving the Zoom link and passcode. If you have not received this information by 2pm on Sunday, please email Tina. If you haven’t already done so, you will need to set up a free Zoom account – this is easy to do, visit https://zoom.us.
You will be able to join us via Zoom from 5.15pm and the actual ceremony will begin at 5.30pm. We are sorry that it will not be possible to admit anyone after 5.30pm.
As always, our Lights of Love ceremony will provide an opportunity to join others to remember a loved one, to mark a special occasion, to share a token of love, or simply to enjoy the experience of belonging to a caring community.
