Supporters of Cherry Lodge Cancer Care helped raise funds for our charity on Sunday 17th September 2017 by taking up the invitation to ‘Eat, Sing and be Merry’ at North Enfield Conservative Club. Thank you very much indeed to Meriel for organising the event, which raised a very welcome £500, and also to the King of Herts Chorus who kindly donated their £100 fee. Our report, below, was supplied by Meriel:
‘YES! We ate, we sang and we were rather merry. After the buffet, the King of Herts barber-shop choir excelled themselves (albeit on empty tummies) and had us all singing along. Geoff then stood in at the last minute to replace the billed Latin dancers and, in good voice, sang three ballads. Next, two Cherry Lodge members and a therapist plus friends performed a trio of dances, giving rise to some hilarity before ending with a Charleston line dance which had guests joining in to dance off the calories. A good time with cheery laughter was had by all.’
