Members and supporters of Cherry Lodge Cancer Care were again in good spirits at our annual Easter Walk ‘n’ Talk event, held in Oak Hill Park, Barnet on Sunday 13th April 2025. This event is not only an opportunity for people to get together and enjoy each other’s company, it is also an important event on the CL fundraising calendar, with over £2,000 raised this year, helping keep CL’s much needed services completely free of charge.
Led by CL outreach nurse, Kirsty, the enthusiastic group of walkers set out at mid-day to take on their sponsored challenge. Proceeding at a leisurely pace, they walked together to complete the mile-long circuit around the park, which looks lovely at this time of year. At the end, everyone who completed the walk was awarded a medal – and a banana! – by CL founder Margaret. Walking a mile was no mean feat for some of the walkers – and we applaud their achievement and thank them for their commitment.
After the walk, people stayed on to socialise and to support Cherry Lodge further by buying goods from the two tables, including Easter bunnies (made by members of the CL knitting group), Easter goodie bags, jewellery, plants and delicious cupcakes.
Huge thanks are sent to everyone who helped put on this event, everyone who took part in the walk, and everyone who sponsored a walker or bought merchandise. You can still sponsor one of our walkers, Xenia, via her CL Enthuse fundraising page. You can see photographs of five of our walkers – Comfort, Corina, Dilly, Rick and Xenia – in the gallery on the Sponsorship for Cherry Lodge page.
