The Cherry Lodge Cancer Care flower arranging event, held at Hadley Memorial Hall on Thursday 10th April 2025, proved as popular as ever, with all 18 tickets sold well ahead of the date. This Easter-themed event was another excellent opportunity for CL members and supporters to see professional florist Iris in action and then, under her guidance, put together an arrangement of their own.
Iris is always happy to share her great love of flowers and how to arrange them to good effect. Her audience watched and listened with full attention as she assembled her three beautiful demonstration arrangements – Spring Morning, Easter Basket and Pot et Fleur. Next came the workshop, which was great fun. Everyone was given a little handbag containing an oasis tub in which to build their own display from a selection of carnations, gyp, tulips and daffodils.
After the flower arranging everyone enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea with Easter cakes arranged by Tina. Thank you very much to our very loyal helpers at the event: the three Super S’s (Sue, Sandra and Simmi), who were all given a lovely bouquet to take home as thanks for their hard work.
This very successful event raised more than £400 to help fund Cherry Lodge’s many services for people affected by cancer.
