The final total raised jointly by pupils of Highstone Dance Academy at their Danceathon on 12th July 2018 (see below) and associated fundraising by the Coffee Bean coffee shop, plus Gift Aid, reached a fantastic £4,582. Our featured photograph (right) celebrates the handing over of a big cheque for the full amount. Thank you again to everyone who played a part in helping to raise this money.
Danceathon raises impressive sum for Soulstice Crowdfunding
Between 4pm and 6.30pm on Thursday 12th July 2018, pupils of The Highstone Dance Academy raised an initial £3,549 to add to Summer Soulstice’s crowd funding total. The pupils’ non-stop, 150-minute-long Danceathon in the Spires courtyard on a very hot day was a most impressive way of raising money to help offset the £45,000+ stolen after this year’s fabulous Summer Soulstice event.
The Highstone Dance Academy is a large dance school based in Hadley Highstone, High Barnet, with a strong connection with Soulstice. Each year, dancers from the school have opened the Summer Soulstice festival. The school’s fundraising Danceathon was a great way to cement this link and help the Soulstice Crew raise more money to continue helping Cherry Lodge Cancer Care.
The event was held in association with the Coffee Bean coffee shop, who have also been raising money through a raffle.
Thank you very much indeed to everyone involved: pupils and staff of The Highstone Dance Academy, the proprietors of The Coffee Bean, management at The Spires for granting permission, Cherry Lodge volunteers for lending a hand, and a great many extremely generous donors.
