Cherry Lodge Cancer Care’s Pink Tombola, held at The Spires in Barnet on Saturday 19th October 2024, comes round every year, as regular as clockwork, along with major central London events like the State Opening of Parliament and Remembrance Sunday. We hold our Pink Tombola event every October to mark national Breast Cancer Awareness month. As well as increasing awareness of breast cancer, this popular event gives shoppers a bit of fun and raises valuable and much needed funds for our charity.
At the start of the day, with the rain relentlessly chucking it down, the two tables were groaning under the weight of nearly 300 generously donated pink prizes. Miraculously, the weather changed completely and our pink display attracted constant interest until well into the afternoon. People gathered eagerly to buy three sticks for a pound in the hope of winning, or sometimes simply chose to make a generous donation to our funds. Our stall also gave people an opportunity to learn about Cherry Lodge and just what we are there for.
