On Tuesday 24th July 2018, the Rotary Club of Potters Bar handed over a cheque for £500 to help Cherry Lodge Cancer Care continue to provide its much needed, free information and support services for people affected by cancer.
This very welcome donation included nearly £300 raised by Rotarian John Godfrey and his wife Lyn, who recently opened up their really beautiful garden in Potters Bar to raise money for charity. The decision to give the money to Cherry Lodge was made at the recommendation of fellow Rotarians, Vivien Lewis and Andrea Verall. Both Vivien and Andrea were diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and both have visited Cherry Lodge, where they have been very impressed by the friendly, helpful people who run the centre.
The donation was made up to £500 from the Potters Bar Rotary Club’s Charity Fund. Our photograph, taken at Potters Bar Golf Club (the Rotary Club’s regular weekly venue), shows John Powell (2018-19 President of the Rotary Club of Potters Bar), Vivien and Andrea, and Tina Papasavva (CL Fundraising Events Coordinator).
