Members of the Cherry Lodge Singing Group have not only had fun singing together in the run up to Christmas 2014, they have also made three much appreciated public appearances.
The Singers’ first pre-Christmas performance was at the Cherry Lodge Christmas Market on 29th November, where attendance was undoubtedly boosted by friends and family eager to hear their loved ones singing a medley of Christmas numbers and other popular songs.
This was followed, in the week before Christmas, by two in-store appearances. First, on Monday, 15th December, the Singers were in good voice at Sainsbury’s, Hendon, where their half an hour of singing raised £155 for Cherry Lodge while also helping cement our relationship as the superstore’s charity partner for the year.
Finally, during the afternoon of Friday, 19th December, the Cherry Lodge Singers gave two separate performances at John Lewis, Brent Cross. Their singing was, I am sure, much appreciated as all the many shoppers dashed to complete their seasonal gift buying. Fortunately, a good number of them were able to spare the time to put some money in our collecting buckets. The total raised was a very worthwhile £215.
Very many thanks to everyone involved: store employees, Cherry Lodge fundraising staff and volunteers, and last but not least, the Cherry Lodge Singers and their choir leader, Liz Menezes.
