Thanks to the generosity of Tradition Financial Services, four Cherry Lodge members – Nigel Francis, Tony Scully, Richard Fielden and Harry Francis – were able to take up an opportunity to enjoy a VIP evening of hospitality and football at Wembley Stadium. Their donated tickets, worth £1,000 each, were for the evening of Wednesday 3rd September 2014, when England faced Norway in a friendly international.
Before the match, our members were entertained in the exclusive Bobby Moore Restaurant, where, according to Harry, they ‘were treated like Lords, with a glass of champagne to start, then a delicious three course meal.’ They also had the opportunity to meet several former professional footballers, including Paul Merson, Ray Parlour, Alan Mullery, Martin Chivers and Luther Blissett. In Harry’s words, ‘They were all great ambassadors for football, and each in turn came to chat with us at our table’.
The kick off was at 8 o’clock, by which time our members were happily installed in excellent seats overlooking the half way line. Their view was ‘indescribable’ and ‘to top it all off, England won 1-0’, thanks to a penalty from captain Wayne Rooney in the 68th minute.
This was a wonderful opportunity for four keen football fans, and Cherry Lodge is extremely grateful to Tradition Financial Services for making these tickets available to our members.
