Despite the coronavirus lockdown, Waitrose is continuing to support local charities under the company’s national Community Matters scheme. Cherry Lodge Cancer Care is fortunate to have been among the scheme’s recent beneficiaries and sends its thanks to Waitrose Barnet for choosing to support us.
In normal times, Waitrose stores select three charities each month and ask their customers to put green tokens into one of three instore collection boxes to allocate shares of a monthly Community Matters £1,000. These are challenging times for everyone and the green tokens system has had to be suspended. However, Waitrose is continuing to donate to three charities each month, currently allocating each of them an equal share of the monthly £1,000 total.
