The sun shone brightly on Saturday 30th June 2018 for this year’s fun-filled Families Day at Borehamwood, part of Elstree and Borehamwood’s Annual Civic Festival. As usual, the event was held at Meadow Park and people of all ages flocked there to enjoy the attractions, which included free fairground rides, arena acts and more. There were also lots of stalls to be browsed, offering a good range of refreshments and merchandise and providing information about local organisations, including Cherry Lodge Cancer Care.
Families Day is always a special day for Cherry Lodge’s Borehamwood shop. Assistant shop manager Terry and her team of volunteers, including Val, Diana, Carol, Shirley and Joan, pulled out all the stops to ensure that Cherry Lodge was well represented at the event. As our photos show, the Cherry Lodge stall looked amazing and, not surprisingly, attracted lots of interest. Items for sale at just £1 proved popular and people had fun on the two tombolas – a general tombola for adults and a spectacular cuddly toy tombola for children (or their family members!).
The Cherry Lodge Families Day stall raised an impressive £401.51 to help fund our charity’s much needed information and support services. A big thank you to everyone who helped.
