Our Centre

Interior of the Cherry Lodge CentreThe Cherry Lodge Information and Resource Centre is conveniently situated at 23 Union Street, in the heart of Chipping Barnet. It is easily accessible by local buses and trains, or, if you come by car, there are parking spaces nearby.

Inside, the setting is deliberately non-clinical, with cheerful, comfortable meeting rooms, well equipped therapy rooms, a quiet room, and a well stocked library.

At the Cherry Lodge Centre, you will find a warm welcome, a supportive atmosphere, companionship and top-quality services provided by our friendly staff, and numerous volunteers.

Cherry Lodge is Ours to Keep!

On 16th February 2009, 23 Union Street was purchased by Cherry Lodge Cancer Care. This was made possible as a result of a legacy from Beryl and Kirk Howard who were two of our original members, going back to 1997.

The strange thing is that probate from their will was granted at around the same time as the building came on the market. Kirk and Beryl always said that they would leave their money to Cherry Lodge as they wanted so much for the work to continue. The security of owning a property is not only a financial saving (no more rent!) but guarantees the future.

Front of the Cherry Lodge Centre

It is proposed to change the name from Southgate House to Howard House in their memory and to create a small garden at the front which will be known as Beryl and Kirk’s garden. This will include a cherry tree so people will really know they have arrived at Cherry Lodge. Trustees and staff are extremely grateful for this generous gift and are sure that all who visit the Centre will feel more at home as that is what it now is.
